One Year Session- Rock Hill Child Photographers

I had the greatest honor of photographing little Baby Blake in Rock Hill, as a newborn, when he first came home with his amazing adoptive parents and big brother Connor a year ago. I have been photographing Connor since he was 5, and love this family to the ends of the earth. So to add little brother Blake to my life happens gang, I am ecstatic! Oh and Blake is a ham just like his big brother…Take a look.

Laura + Erik {E-session}=A Perfect Match {Rock Hill Wedding Photographer}

It’s getting rare to see a couple that are high school sweethearts. Even more rare for them to be from two different countries. He is from Germany and she is from the Dominican Republic. These two met at summer camp over five years ago and in just a few short weeks will be having a destination wedding at the historic Charleston Place Hotel in Charleston, South Carolina.

I am so excited to introduce Laura + Erik. She and Erik drove from her home in Greenville to Rock Hill for a fabulous engagement session. The weather tried to play tricks on us, but when we were finally able to work it out, the weather was gorgeous and so are Erik and Laura. In no time at all we had so many great shots, that we stopped earlier than planned and had a great lunch together at the Olive Garden. Yum!

Congrats Erik + Laura! Can’t wait to see you on your big day!

SPOTLIGHT: South Carolina Heart Gallery + Kids Stealing My HEART <3

Sometimes things happen that are out of the blue, but they touch you so deeply that you can’t ignore them. That’s the case with South Carolina Heart Gallery. Kids in need have always held a special place in my heart. It goes back to my wonderful parents teaching me to care for the less fortunate and those in need. So when a colleague of mine told me about SCHG, I was on board immediately. I asked Program Assistant, Mary Smyrl to help me explain just what SCHG is and it’s purpose:

South Carolina Heart Gallery uses the power of photography to help find adoptive homes for children lingering in foster care. Children in foster care who are legally free and waiting for adoption are referred by DSS. Local photographers donate their services to provide beautiful black and white portraits of the children, reflecting each child’s unique spirit and personality. The portraits are displayed in public venues around the state and on the Heart Gallery website at http://www.scheartgallery.org . Each child also receives an small album with an assortment of the photos taken of them.

Begun in New Mexico in 2001, Heart Gallery is now a national program. South Carolina Heart Gallery was founded in 2005 by Millie Qualls, Program Coordinator, and is a special partnership between the Children’s Foster Care Review Board and the SC Department of Social Services (DSS).

Please take the time to check out their website or Facebook page. Getting the word out there will go a long way in finding a child a home.

Teddy Bear Tea Party + Ella Clare Creations (Rock Hill Photographer)

Every time I get an idea for a concept, I can’t wait to see it come to life. Sometimes, I even beg or plead for victims, I mean volunteers! 😀

During this past summer I got this idea to do a Teddy Bear Tea Party….well you can’t have a tea party without pretty little girls in pretty little dresses, right? So, my very good friends Beth and Michele, owners of Ella-Clare Creations, volunteered to bring out their beautiful little daughters and party with me. They are so stinkin’ cute!

Big Brother even had his awesome little shorts set to show off in between assisting me with props. All of these outfits are hand made by Beth and Michele. Where were these girls when my kids were little???

And check out the hand made dolly and me nightgown sets….too cute!!

I asked Beth and Michele to describe Ella-Clare Creations:

At Ella-Clare Creations we specialize in making custom ordered children’s clothes. What started out as a need for making our girls, Ella and Clare, clothing because of their petite sizes, we found a passion for making clothes for other children. Our website is up and running, but it is still a work in progress. We are not limited to the items listed on the website or the fabrics pictured. These are just examples of what we have made and fabrics we have used. Contact us on Facebook, through our website www.ellaclarecreations.com, or email ellaclarecreations@gmail.com to discuss what you’d like to order for your little one.

They are promising a giveaway as soon as they reach 300 fans on Facebook. Go check them out.
